Teaching Assistant - Level 2

REQUIRED TO START SEPTEMBER 2024   

Job Title: Teaching Assistant Level 2  

 Permanent – Part-Time (2 Posts)

5 hours and 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week

27 hours, 30 mins per week

39 weeks per year (term time plus one week)

GRADE: Bexley Council 05 Points 051 to 054 – FTE Salary £27,030 to £27,438   

Actual Salary: £17,759.57 - £18,027.64  

Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care.

In 2023, 72% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Progress was also strong. At A level in 2023, 41% of grades were at A*-B.  Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.

Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at A level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.

Our Governors want to appoint Two Teaching Assistants - Level 2 who will join our Team of 14 Teaching Assistants in the Special Educational Needs Department.

Candidates will need good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills to be able to support pupils in a variety of curriculum areas.

Previous experience of working with children in primary or secondary school is essential.  

Candidates will need to be available to work from 8.30am until 15.10pm each day.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check.
