Why study this subject:

The course provides the opportunity to learn about Human Development and the factors in life that can cause positive and negative impacts. The Btec will also cover the skills of caring and recognising individual’s needs including those with specific disorders and illness. The course is suited to students who have an interest in Human biology, can apply theory to practice and case studies.

UNIT 1  Human life span

UNIT 2 Working in Health and social care

UNIT 5 Meeting individual’s  care  and support needs

UNIT 14 Physiological disorders and their care

How will I be assessed: 

Units 1 and 2 are exams—externally marked

Unit 5 and 14 are portfolio—Internally marked

Future course and possible careers:

Degree courses in Nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, social work, teaching  or  other related care   providing jobs
