Assistant Site Manager

Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care.

In 2023 / 2024, 67% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Progress was also strong. At A level in 2023/2024, 44% of grades were at A*-B. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.

Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at A level, as well as vocational level 3 courses.

The role is crucial to the smooth running of the school, combing the traditional caretaking role. Working as part of the Site Maintenance Team you will be responsible for the security, cleanliness and general preservation of the school, as well as porterage and other extensive manual handling duties.

The successful applicant will need to possess good general maintenance skills, with particular knowledge of heating, plumbing, electricity and carpentry. You must be flexible and it is essential that you can be contacted to respond to security call outs.

The ability to be flexible is crucial to this role as the working week includes Saturdays, early mornings and late evenings on a rota basis and some Sundays on request paid as overtime and as a key holder be able to respond to emergencies.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check.
