Why study this subject:
The Business BTEC Level 3 course provides opportunities for students to develop employability skills in three main categories:
· Cognitive and problem-solving skills: use of critical thinking, approach non-routine problems applying expert and creative solutions, use of systems and technology
· Intrapersonal skills: communicating, working collaboratively, negotiating and influencing, self-presentation
· Interpersonal skills: self-management, adaptability and resilience, self-monitoring and development.
How will I be assessed:
Unit 1: Internally assessed coursework.
Unit 2: A task is set and marked by the examination board and completed under supervised conditions. Students will be provided with a case study, in order to carry out analysis on examination board-provided research. The supervised assessment period is a three hours and is arranged in a period of time allocated by the examination board. This unit is worth 70 marks.
Unit 3: A 2-hour written examination set by the examination board and worth 100 marks.
Unit 8: Internally assessed coursework.
Future course and possible careers:
The Business BTEC Level 3 qualification covers content that affects everyone, in every day of their lives. It is a very useful qualification for any career choice but will be particularly useful if you want to work in an office, be a manager or run your own business in the future.
