TEACHER OF ECONOMICS

 

SALARY: MPR (including Outer London Allowance)

 

Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2017, 68% of students achieved GCSE A*- C grades, including English and Mathematics at four and above.  Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.

 

Our Governors wish to appoint a well-qualified, ambitious, motivated, innovative and inspirational Teacher of Economics for our Vocational Studies Faculty, who is committed to raising achievement and who has the capacity to make a real contribution to the work of a supportive and continually improving school.            The ability to teach Economics at A Level, across the age and ability range is required.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing positon; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that the post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
