Blackfen School for Girls

Blackfen School for Girls

Raising aspirations - releasing potential

Examination Results

Blackfen School’s sixth form students have achieved a 100% pass rate at A2 this year.  The results produced by the students are the school’s best ever results.  Over 54% of the grades awarded were at A*-B.

Head Teacher, Matthew Brown, commented, “Congratulations to all students at the school.  They have worked extremely hard and I am very proud of their achievements.  All students have been highly committed to their studies over the last two years.  The grades have enabled students to gain places at University or to gain places on high level training schemes and apprenticeships.  The results achieved are testament to the hard work and support from all staff in the school.  I wish all the students every success in the future.”

We also maintained its reputation as a high performing non-selective school in the GCSE examination results this summer.  Over 60% of students gaining 5A*-C grades including Mathematics and English.

Head Teacher, Matthew Brown, commented “I am delighted with these excellent results.  Our students have worked extremely hard and deserve the fantastic grades they have achieved.  There have been some noticeable changes to the examination system this year but students and staff have positively met the challenges these have presented to ensure the outcome for students remains at the highest possible level.  The results provide a passport to further study and career opportunities for all our students.  The results have been achieved due to a real team effort – students, staff, parents and Governors have worked hard together to ensure success”.
