Permanent – Full-Time 

5 days per week - 36 hours per week

39 weeks per year (term time plus one week)

GRADE: Bexley Council 07 Points 071 to 074

In 2023/2024, 67% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Progress was also strong. At A level in 2023/2024, 44% of grades were at A*-B.  Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.

Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at A level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.

Our Governors want to appoint a well qualified, experienced, motivated and innovative Teaching Assistant - Level 3 and EAL Co-ordinator who will join our Special Educational Needs Department.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • To work within a classroom setting, either on a 1-2-1 basis or with a small group of students.
  • To promote inclusion and provide support for students who have English as a second language.
  • Help to overcome barriers to learning.
  • To work under the guidance of SEN Teacher to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups. 
  • Assist the teacher in the whole planning cycle including the management and preparation of resources.
  • Supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers when you would be expected to maintain good pace, behaviour and engagement in appropriate tasks.
  • Contribute to the school awareness of EAL.
